Why January 17th you ask? The U.S. House of Representatives convenes for the first time in 2012 on January 17th. We can’t wait until the weather gets nice and everybody has the day off. We need to be there en mass as soon as they begin their legislative session to let them know that they’re not going to waste another year. Nothing hardly ever gets accomplished in an election year and that is part of the problem. What better way to welcome them back than to have a huge demonstration that will drive the conversation on the ground and in the media. It’s time we start holding their feet to the fire to get something done for the people.

We are Legion. We are the 99%.

Why Occupy Congress?

A frequent response I get from Libertarian and Tea Party-inclined folks when I ask them “What do you think of the Occupy Movement?” is “They’re directing their anger at the wrong place”. These people view corporations as productive forces in society, and think most of the ills of society are created by government. The truth may lie somewhere in between, but certainly many of our current government programs and institutions are serving only the 1%. If we had a functioning democracy, we could have an honest debate about what’s wrong with our economy and our country and how we can make government and business work for the 99% too. But with Congress bought and paid for by special interests, honest debate is the last thing that occurs in the halls of government.

Abusive corporations make us angry, sure, but, most of the 99% don’t want to abolish capitalism. We recognize the value corporations can bring to our society, but we clearly need some rules. Who is supposed to protect us when corporations get out of control? The government! What we have here is a colossal failure of our government to protect the people it was created to serve. What we have instead is an unholy union of government and private enterprise that serves only itself.

All branches of the federal government are in need of radical reform, but Congress is especially broken. According to RealClearPolitics, a whopping 82.5% of Americans disapprove of the job Congress is doing. Maybe our legislators are not bad people. Maybe they’re just stuck in a system that is no longer capable of working for the people. Let’s give them a chance to prove they have the courage to change that system. We need to get money out of politics, right now, and completely. Musician Steve Van Zandt has written a compelling argument that we need to eliminate all private finance from the electoral process. Why isn’t Congress debating this?

What do you think needs to change in Washington to fix our economy and our country? Hey, Tea Partiers and Libertarians, now that we’re turning from Wall Street to K Street, are you going to join us? We the people, of all political persuasions, need to unite if we want to fix our government so we can have principled debates on what the best solutions are for our common good.

The exact nature of Occupy Congress J17, including what kind of sustained presence can be maintained, is still being worked out. See the Forums on this site if you want to participate in shaping things. The main event, however, is a one-day rally on January 17th, 2012. We’d like to get as many people as possible to take the day off and come to Washington and demand Congress start working for the people again. Tens of thousands of people chanting outside the Capitol would be hard to ignore, and it doesn’t matter what we chant, because We are our demands! If Congress started working for the 99%, reckless corporations would be restrained, not bailed out. Come to Washington on January 17th, 2012 and lend your voice. The people, united, will never be defeated! http://www.occupyyourcongress.info/2011/12/15/why-occupy-congress/

Thanks for stopping by Steve-2081387.

Actually they have been protesting in Washington,DC from the beginning.

Here is the Occupy DC website.

At one point Occupy was in 1500 cities all over the world. So we have the bases pretty well covered I think.

Everyone was saying that we'd never make it through the winter, so we want to make sure everyone sees we're still here, and planning to greet Congress as they come back to Washington. Hopefully they plan on actually doing something this year!

Occupy will be alive and protesting in 2012 just like we said all along! We cannot be stopped!

I really do wish that our government would start to do what is needed to give everyone a more fair shot at life. That is basically all we want. There still are no list of "demands" because the politicians are paid to make the changes and fix the problems that "we the people" have pointed out to them in the letter of "declarations" that Occupy put out last September.

We will busy in 2012

Expect us!

Sammy,

Thanks so much for this as well as all of the other pieces you have been bringing to us. That Makana song!!! OMG, it might just be the perfect song for the movement. He captured it in the tagline:

'Til you do the Bidding of the Many, Not the Few.

Holding their feet to the fire is what we have in mind for sure. They can no longer hide behind our apathy.

The song is the best! Keep the link floating around so we can hear it more often!

Steve,

There is an argument that the corporations pushed money on the politicians versus the politicians shook down the corporations for money. Kinda like walking in on your spouse with someone else in bed: Who is doing who? Really, does it matter who is on top?

I can remember a senator named Hollingsworth saying he spent most of his days calling people and telling them what he could do for them, or what he could do to them, then he would ask for a donation. If you want to get corporate and union money out of congress, make it illegal for them to accept it.

Steve,

I agree that we need campaign funding reform--real this time--and term limits could be a good one but these guys peddle influence just within their one term. You can see them all lined up for this cushy job.

One of my fav movies is Mr Smith Goes to Washington. Oh, that we had honest public servants rather than these bloated millionaires we have!

“Occupy protesters set up a banner at the Capitol for a day of protesting on the west lawn of the Capitol grounds. So far, at least six have been arrested, one for trying to jump a police barricade,” reported The Washington Post early Tuesday afternoon.

Occupy Austin reported on Twitter early Tuesday afternoon, "2 occupiers just arrested for stepping onto the sidewalk."

It's getting down to 34° at night in Washington D.C., fabulous camping weather. Maybe they're planning to Occupy Hypothermia on January 17th.

I can see a lot of painful lessons in the near future for lawless Occupiers around heavily guarded Capitol buildings. The Federales don't have the same sense of humor that City cops do, in fact D.C. cops don't have any tolerance for horseplay at all.

The weather forecast for Occupy Congress is cold and cloudy with a fair chance of pepper spray.

If the goal is to get money out of politics, then the result would be worse for Democracy and not better because only very wealthy men using their own money could ever be electable. It's nearly that way now.

Half of Congress are millionaires. That's right, 250 of the 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives have a net worth of over $1 Million. The median net worth of a Senator is $2.63 Million, and the median net worth of a Representative is a mere $757,000.

Basically, the Occupiers who bash the 1% for buying politics are going to be protesting politicians who are, themselves, in that selfsame 1%.

Can a poor man be elected to Congress? Not likely. The average successful Senate campaign costs $7 Million to win, while no one in the last election for the House who raised less than $1 Million to campaign won a seat. That's why half of those seats are filled with millionaires.

What OWSers want is simply not possible. With the kind of money required to run a successful campaign, the only means to gain such enormous amounts of funding is through corporations or unions backing a candidate.

Take that away, and things will get even worse than they are today. If you think Congress is bad with half the seats filled with millionaires, just imagine those seats 100% filled with millionaires.

Be careful what you wish for, OWS. You might get more than you're bargaining for.

If the goal is to get money out of politics,

The goal is not to get money out of politics. We'd really, really like to see our government slowly step away from the national debt. The goal is to politely escort Wall Street ethics out of our money.

That's right, 250 of the 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives have a net worth of over $1 Million. The median net worth of a Senator is $2.63 Million, and the median net worth of a Representative is a mere $757,000.

A million is not necessarily a whole lot of money. I'd be more interested in seeing their tax deductions. "Net Worth", as is, I wouldn't give you $10 for the whole damned mess right now. The United States has truly got a mess on her hands, and I've not seen much good come from any of them in a very long time.

Can a poor man be elected to Congress?

A smart one can.

Be careful what you wish for, OWS. You might get more than you're bargaining for.

When we quit wishing, we forget to reach for the stars. Life's not a whole lot of fun then.

LMAO bring 'em on bubba! Make sure they bring their pepper spray and tear gas because they will need it to hide behind!

The weather forecast for Occupy Congress is cold and cloudy with a fair chance of pepper spray.

They have their parkas and gas masks ready! The cameras are on and the world is watching so have the police release the dogs too! How far will they go to crush the rights of Americans to protest their government? Spend a few more million tax dollars and have lots of pepper spray and jail space.

If the goal is to get money out of politics, then the result would be worse for Democracy and not better because only very wealthy men using their own money could ever be electable. It's nearly that way now.

That's your opinion, thank you giving it, but I see it a different way. You don't need money to be popular anymore since we all have the internet.

Half of Congress are millionaires. That's right, 250 of the 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives have a net worth of over $1 Million. The median net worth of a Senator is $2.63 Million, and the median net worth of a Representative is a mere $757,000.

What makes me really angry is that they all come out with even more money than when they get elected. What happened to a government that did the will of the people? We're gonna get that back!

Basically, the Occupiers who bash the 1% for buying politics are going to be protesting politicians who are, themselves, in that selfsame 1%.

We are aware that in order to have a government that represents the people will involve having our politicians bite the very hands that are feeding them. We have much work to do and are determined to see the job through to the end.

Can a poor man be elected to Congress? Not likely. The average successful Senate campaign costs $7 Million to win, while no one in the last election for the House who raised less than $1 Million to campaign won a seat. That's why half of those seats are filled with millionaires.

That's why we need to get the corporate money out of the government. They have driven the costs up so high that an average guy has no chance. But have faith, as this movement progresses and regular people get some attention and some time I think in the future you will see regular old joe's that are able to get their hats in the ring.

What OWSers want is simply not possible.

Depends on what you say they want. So far they have made NO demands or "wants"

With the kind of money required to run a successful campaign, the only means to gain such enormous amounts of funding is through corporations or unions backing a candidate.

Or why don't we have the people backing the candidate without needing the corporate money? What makes you think that Occupy doesn't have money anyway? There have some sizable donations that have come in that maybe your local fux news station didn't tell you about.

Take that away, and things will get even worse than they are today. If you think Congress is bad with half the seats filled with millionaires, just imagine those seats 100% filled with millionaires.

That is what we are all trying to avoid Gene. The millionaires live in a different world than the average Americans. They live in a world that isn't concerned about how much every little thing costs, or if they can feed their family today or not.

Be careful what you wish for, OWS. You might get more than you're bargaining for.

Like I said, so far we have made NO wishes, wants, demands of any kind. We are asking our elected officials to do the jobs they are elected to do. There has been ONE official 'Declaration" That has been released that merely lists the problems that we see in this nation so far. Our government knows what they need to do to solve the problems that we have brought to their attention. As soon as they do what needs to be done we will stop protesting.

Thank you for stopping by and giving us that weather update. We will be sure to bring our long sleeved shirts.

Those don't really help in slush conditions when snow melts and freezes again every day. That's kind of why I live in Phoenix. My tolerance for ice is limited to soda glasses where it belongs.

LMAO bring 'em on bubba! Make sure they bring their pepper spray and tear gas because they will need it to hide behind!

Do you really believe that they'll stick with non-lethal force? Capitol security forces don't wear duty belts full of gadgets. They'll carry one concealed weapon... a gun. They will not hesitate to shoot anybody stupid enough to try and force entry into the Capitol. This is not a game. This is going to get people killed.

They have their parkas and gas masks ready! The cameras are on and the world is watching so have the police release the dogs too! How far will they go to crush the rights of Americans to protest their government? Spend a few more million tax dollars and have lots of pepper spray and jail space.

The world doesn't give a crap, they're watching Desperate Housewives instead of the news. I know how far this government will go. The Civil War began in 1861, there were 140,414 battle deaths, 224,097 "other" deaths and 646,392 casualties. This government has killed hundreds of thousands of American citizens before and will not hesitate for one second to do so again.

The victor writes the history, and OWS will go down as a bunch of rebels same as the Confederacy did.

That's your opinion, thank you giving it, but I see it a different way. You don't need money to be popular anymore since we all have the internet.

Actually, that's a weakness and not a strength. You see, the problem with the internet is that everybody is screaming to be heard, and nobody really gets heard at all. Everybody just hears what they want to hear and sees what they want to see. If OWS isn't at least as entertaining as "Angry Birds" then their message is just a quick click to close the page and it's gone.

We are aware that in order to have a government that represents the people will involve having our politicians bite the very hands that are feeding them. We have much work to do and are determined to see the job through to the end.

It's easy to say that now, but when (not if) the violence comes and you realize that our government is capable of making Saddam Hussein, Moammar Ghadaffi and Bashar al-Assad look like choir boys you'll be seeing a lot of cutting and running. In case you haven't noticed, our government loves violence. Don't believe me? Ask Iraq. Ask Afghanistan. Our government is QUICK to resort to violence.

That's why we need to get the corporate money out of the government. They have driven the costs up so high that an average guy has no chance. But have faith, as this movement progresses and regular people get some attention and some time I think in the future you will see regular old joe's that are able to get their hats in the ring.

I can't have faith. The 'movement' is a circus act complete with clowns wearing masks. They're kids who don't know what they're up against and what they're in for. Once this murderous and violent government stops being amused by these antics, all HELL is going to break loose and it's all going to look like OWS'ers fault to boot. Victors always get to write the history.

Or why don't we have the people backing the candidate without needing the corporate money? What makes you think that Occupy doesn't have money anyway? There have some sizable donations that have come in that maybe your local fux news station didn't tell you about.

You don't know why people vote? It's all about name recognition, star power, it's a popularity contest. If you try to make sense of the madness then you'll drive yourself mad in the attempt.

Quick example... Mike Dukakis. Was he a worse candidate than Bush41? Not really, but he looked goofy, and he was considered "short" for a President (at 5'8" tall, he was actually average height for an American male but most Presidents are 6' tall or better).

American voters are shallow. If it requires more attention than a sound bite, you'll lose them because they've got the attention of a fruit fly and they'll vote on name recognition without any other consideration given. Name recognition is why it costs big bucks to get elected, because that's the only way to get attention from the iPod Generation.

That is what we are all trying to avoid Gene. The millionaires live in a different world than the average Americans. They live in a world that isn't concerned about how much every little thing costs, or if they can feed their family today or not.

Actually, they don't. Your next door neighbor could be a millionaire and just be too humble to tell you. People who brag on their wealth are annoying as Hell, and it's considered rude. In some workplaces, it's not even allowed to discuss who makes how much.

Like I said, so far we have made NO wishes, wants, demands of any kind. We are asking our elected officials to do the jobs they are elected to do.

That's a ridiculous thing to ask. "Our" elected officials were elected by thousands of voters, many with different bones to pick and axes to grind. No elected official can do the "job" with thousands of bosses micromanaging him. That's why this is a representative Republic and not an actual Democracy.

We don't share elected officials anyway. Unless you're from Arizona, John McCain is MY Senator, not "Our" Senator. You can't fire him. You can't vote for or against him (unless he runs for President again, and really not even then due to the Electoral College). It's not "OUR" government. This is a Nation of 50 States, United but still sovereign.

OWSers think they can change Congress with a rag-tag band of campers from nearby States. Most Senators and Congressmen are immune to votes from OWSers. They're not from the right States. Most OWSer's are from liberal states. They're a threat to Democrats but can't really touch Republicans at all.

ROFLMAO! Do You think they will kill us for protesting? Boy that's going to look great on youtube! I hope they shoot me first! The whole world will be watching so let them do what they will to protect the precious 1% I hope the blood flies right on to the bill of rights!

The world doesn't give a crap, they're watching Desperate Housewives instead of the news. I know how far this government will go. They didn't have the internet during the civil war to document what was going on and to have it archived for future generations to review and discuss. The world DOES care and not everyone is watching desperate housewives and oprah. They can't kill us all!

The victor writes the history, and OWS will go down as a bunch of rebels same as the Confederacy did.

Did you see that in your your crystal ball that you see the future with?

Actually, that's a weakness and not a strength. You see, the problem with the internet is that everybody is screaming to be heard, and nobody really gets heard at all. Everybody just hears what they want to hear and sees what they want to see. If OWS isn't at least as entertaining as "Angry Birds" then their message is just a quick click to close the page and it's gone.

But then we can thousands of peaceful citizens show up in any given city at any given time with just a few hours notice at most. I think there are more people watching and listening than you want to admit. They could click away, but they aren't. Kinda hard to miss the protests that were in 1500 cities around the world too. Our message is getting out, weather people want to listen or not is up to them. We believe they are listening. We will be getting louder too.

Again with the violence? Do you really think they will kill thousands when the world is watching and recording it? REALLY??? I gotta go against ya on that. This is a peaceful protest and we are unarmed. If they kill us you better run too, people with a low tolerance for ice might be next on their list! THEY CAN'T KILL US ALL!

You sure do paint OWS with a wide brush! Kinda like fux news does. maybe you have seen their infotainment shows too often? This is just too uninformed to respond to. You somehow seem to think that violence will solve all of the problems in our country. That isn't true! Why do the government and 1% get so scared that they have to threaten violence when the people gather? What do they have to hide? Do they have something to loose that they are willing to kill over? Do you think the deaths will go unnoticed? You have the wrong outlook on this movement.

You don't know why people vote? It's all about name recognition, star power, it's a popularity contest. If you try to make sense of the madness then you'll drive yourself mad in the attempt.

Yea, but yet you made sense of it of course.

Quick example... Mike Dukakis. Was he a worse candidate than Bush41? Not really, but he looked goofy, and he was considered "short" for a President (at 5'8" tall, he was actually average height for an American male but most Presidents are 6' tall or better).

That is insipid. So you say bush got elected because he is taller?? LOL OoooKay

American voters are shallow. If it requires more attention than a sound bite, you'll lose them because they've got the attention of a fruit fly and they'll vote on name recognition without any other consideration given. Name recognition is why it costs big bucks to get elected, because that's the only way to get attention from the iPod Generation.

We all still remember the budget debacles of 2011 that resulted in the "Tea Party Downgrade", so I think you're wrong about the memories of the Americans. We will be reminding them all the time of what has happened. I just don't agree with you that it takes a bunch of money to be popular. I will say that it will be very tough if the corporate money remains in government though. They can tell their lies 24/7 on every t.v. station in the nation and radio too because they are all owned by the 1%! In the end I think the people will win though. We are wise to their lies and games.

Actually, they don't. Your next door neighbor could be a millionaire and just be too humble to tell you. People who brag on their wealth are annoying as Hell, and it's considered rude. In some workplaces, it's not even allowed to discuss who makes how much.

You sure don't know my neighborhood! I can swear that my neighbors are not millionaires! I don't guess you have reading the doxes that have been flooding the Internet, have you? Most executives wages are already published, along with much other personal information about them. The information is available for those who chose to seek it out.

That's a ridiculous thing to ask. "Our" elected officials were elected by thousands of voters, many with different bones to pick and axes to grind. No elected official can do the "job" with thousands of bosses micromanaging him. That's why this is a representative Republic and not an actual Democracy.

No, it is not ridiculous to ask the elected officials to do their jobs! They can quit if they don't want to do the job. Yes, they each have many bosses, that is part of the job and they knew that going in. They are supposed to be doing what is best for the majority of the people that vote for them. Instead they are doing the best for the corporations that gave them enough money to be elected.

No kidding.... thanks I would have never have figured that out. What do you think their job is that they are supposed to do, and did they do it this past year?

OWSers think they can change Congress with a rag-tag band of campers from nearby States. Most Senators and Congressmen are immune to votes from OWSers. They're not from the right States. Most OWSer's are from liberal states. They're a threat to Democrats but can't really touch Republicans at all.

You are very uninformed about this movement my friend and are using too wide of a brush to paint it with.

So who do you think should be protesting if it isn't people from nearby states?

You say they are immune to OWS, but we are in every major city in the nation and many others around the globe!

They are not from the right states, that statement is insane. We are in EVERY state!

Most are from liberal states, which states are they from and how do you know? Show me some proof for all these wild accusations you are making!

You say they can't touch the tgop, but we already have and the dems too. :) Don't you see them cowering and scared and putting the police and law enforcement in front of them to protect them? We have them all on the run, that's why they are escalating the violence! We expected this!

They have failed to stop us so far, and they will continue to fail. Their conventional methods will not work against us and it is just buying us time to gather even more information from their corrupt corporations. Maybe you haven't noticed all the recent hacks?? I hear they hit NATO again? Congress is on their list too. HHmmmm, I suppose that is why DHS is putting out releases about the hackers and the dangers they pose to security? LOL good luck finding them!

...and while they are chasing the ghosts that robbed the Internet, we will be peacefully protesting their corruption!

ROFLMAO! Do You think they will kill us for protesting? Boy that's going to look great on youtube! I hope they shoot me first! The whole world will be watching so let them do what they will to protect the precious 1% I hope the blood flies right on to the bill of rights!

I know they will kill you for protesting. You're talking about the United States Government, the government that committed genocide on Native Americans just for living in unapproved places. Killing is nothing the Federal Government hasn't done many times before. The whole world won't be watching. Sorry, but this world has gone insular. People are watching Netflix, not news. People are listening to MP3's, not the radio.

Let me put this in perspective for you.

UC Davis "Occupy" Pepper Sprayed gets 1.6 Million hits on YouTube.

Angry Birds Cinematic Trailer gets 53.6 Million hits on YouTube.

If "the whole world is watching" is your insurance policy to keep the Feds from treating you like they treated the Japanese in Hiroshima then you're really rolling the dice in a losing game. The Feds kill who they want, where they want, when they want and how they want and the public won't care at all.

They didn't have the internet during the civil war to document what was going on and to have it archived for future generations to review and discuss. The world DOES care and not everyone is watching desperate housewives and oprah. They can't kill us all!

Nobody believes the internet. "I saw it on the internet, it must be true!" is one of the oldest jokes of the 21st Century.

Actually, yes, they can kill you all and not even break a sweat in doing so. They can take out Saddam Hussein, Manuel Noriega, Moammar Ghadaffi and drive the Taliban into caves, and you think the Federal Government can't handle a few hippies? At the time Baghdad fell to US Forces, the Iraqi Army was the 5th largest in the world. They didn't last a week.

You sure do paint OWS with a wide brush! Kinda like fux news does. maybe you have seen their infotainment shows too often? This is just too uninformed to respond to. You somehow seem to think that violence will solve all of the problems in our country. That isn't true!

I don't watch more than 3 hours of TV per month. I don't like television, as I prefer to read. I have yet to watch so much as a minute of TV this year. My cable could go out and it would take me weeks to notice it.

As for violence, it's the only proven solution to tyranny. It's the only thing tyrants understand.

Why do the government and 1% get so scared that they have to threaten violence when the people gather? What do they have to hide? Do they have something to loose that they are willing to kill over? Do you think the deaths will go unnoticed? You have the wrong outlook on this movement.

They have nothing to lose. The killing is just an amusing diversion, sort of like Romans throwing Christians to the lions. Were Christians a serious threat to Caesar? Not really, but it was kind of fun feeding the lions.

I know they will kill you for protesting.

You just think you know what is in the future! There has been nobody killed here in the U.S. during this protest. Although I think the police are being abusive towards the peaceful protesters, they have not resorted to using live rounds, like they do in Egypt. There has been relatively few protesters even seriously injured, but even one is too many.

This protest is peaceful and everyone there has a constitutional right to be there. Now, I don't have any idea why you think that the government will come out and kill us all, frankly the idea is simply insipid! Could they kill us all? Most definitely! Will they ever try? NO!

If "the whole world is watching" is your insurance policy to keep the Feds from treating you like they treated the Japanese in Hiroshima

ROFLMA! Holy hell Gene, do you even think, for one second, that they will drop a nuke on their own country to stop us from peacefully protesting? Your comments are really very hard to believe and funny as all get out! LMAO Man, I haven't had a good belly laugh like that in years! One minute you tell me that nobody is paying attention to Occupy and now you're going to tell me that the United States government will spend Billions of taxpayers dollars and have congress declare war on it's own people and the nuke them! How friggin crazy it to think that? These comments you've made are very unrealistic, but very funny so please continue.

I don't watch more than 3 hours of TV per month. I don't like television, as I prefer to read. I have yet to watch so much as a minute of TV this year. My cable could go out and it would take me weeks to notice it.

But your statements sound just like fux news talking points.

The 'movement' is a circus act complete with clowns wearing masks. They're kids who don't know what they're up against and what they're in for.

You could be a writer for the fux infotainment network with words like that! Are you referring to Anonymous as "the clowns wearing masks?" Really?? So you think that some of the best hackers and computer programmers in the world are clowns? How naive.

As for violence, it's the only proven solution to tyranny. It's the only thing tyrants understand.

This is a peaceful movement. We will resist their violence peacefully, just as we have in the past. When they escalate their violence we know we are making them scared! Every time they try to hurt us our numbers grow. It is not in our best interest to use violence to fight their violence at this time, so we will remain peaceful. We have the truth on our side, and the truth will win in the end.

They have nothing to lose.

That is where you are wrong! They have everything to lose or they wouldn't be bringing the violence against us at all! Why are they spending so many tax dollars trying to stop us from protesting if they have nothing to lose? If they had nothing to lose the police would be stopping traffic and blocking the streets off so the protesters have a safe pathway and the police would be protecting the people instead pepper spraying them. They have everything to lose and they know it. They are afraid of our messages so they have given us no MSM time. Our message is getting out without the MSM though, and that scares them even more. They are spending millions of taxpayers dollars trying to stop us from gathering in every major city in the nation, but they failed. They have tried to intimidate us with violence, but we are still here. We cannot and will not be stopped.

They represent corruption and lies and cover-ups and backroom deals, but OWS represents the truth, so until they strip us of our constitutional rights, which they are trying very hard to do, I still believe that we have a chance to get our government back to representing the people of the nation using peaceful means. So until I start seeing drones attacking the protests with fighter jets scrambling and troops moving in with tanks and missiles flying, we're not going to worry too much about what could or could not be done if the government resorts to the use of the military to try to stop us. We are pretty confident that they will not start a full scale war to stop us from voicing our grievances against our government peacefully. Like I said the whole idea is simply insipid!

The killing is just an amusing diversion, sort of like Romans throwing Christians to the lions. Were Christians a serious threat to Caesar? Not really, but it was kind of fun feeding the lions.

Ready the lions then because we're going to Washington DC! Think of the fun in store.

Despite the cold weather (current temp is 59 deg.) and threats of police violence and in spite of what could happen, if this were a Hollywood movie, we will be Occupying Washington DC (as we have the whole time through) and making our voices heard!

Occupy will be the ones to greet congress as it comes back to Washington on the 17th!

Expect us!

I love the mood and music in this as a calmer feeling call to reason than more techish edgy anonish videos. I know every group has a different appetite for packaging but the softer side of anons aint overplayed yet, ya know? Mostly I'm waiting for 99% of the 99% to be with us demanding Liberty & purging corporate government.

Kinda funny in a ows nyc trivia way is that I must have been standing right beside this videographer on Dec 17th, six clicks of stills and howdy we're in synch with appreciation, lol! :~)

So it was you!! I knew I saw that picture somewhere! Thanks for stopping in.

The anon videos are the work of individuals, so different people use different music. The "softer" side of Anonymous doesn't show itself very often and is still intimidating when it does!

Would you mind if I use some of your amazing pictures to do a montage video? I was thinking of trying to use this song and put the pictures from Occupy to the music. Marillion is one of my favorite bands! I wanted to do something using one of their songs. This one is old.

The beginning of the year is almost like a new awakening and the beginning of a new movement. Where do we go from here? First stop Congress!

Dollar Is A Vote video is a good video!

I haven't done a video in awhile, but the last one I did got me thrown off of youtube!

This is the last video that I did, but it turned out to be controversial when someone in congress started giving the cd away! This video had over a million hits on youtube it before they pulled it down and cancelled my account to to TOS violations, something about language???? :)

Thank you so much for letting me use some of your pics. If I ever get around to doing another video I'll send you a link to it!

Honestly, the video made me a little uncomfortable with the repetition of the word Negro, probably because its a word that was consciously, purged with effort from my baby boomer vocabulary and hits a chord that harks back to the darker side of the Civil Rights movement for me too.

That said I do like art that moves us beyond our comfort zones, forces us to look at how we think about things we may not have examined as having alternatives, just accepted as how it is.

You have great message and there will always be a line too far for some to cross, like George Carlin & Lenny Bruce etc it's a matter of personality and passion where your own limits end. After that it's a question of saying a lot of what you'd like or being silenced.

Not really a legit trade off of course, but that's the real deal you've got now, bites but next one has a whole world of options in creation and you know your voice! Be sure to link me to any new stuff asap so regardless of critical feedback I get to see it! It's fabulous fun for me to share pics, grew up in a family of artists always falling into collaborative undertakings, love it! :~)

Actually the song I used in that video was from Paul Shanklin. Rush used to play it on his show! I was actually threatened with a lawsuit from clear channel over making the video! The lyrics stemmed from a black man that is with the LA Times that did a op-ed piece that called barack that name! Rush just kept repeating it so many think it is one of his statements, but it isn't. I made the video to prove just how dumb rush was for repeating it.

I now own copyrights to the video!

Thank you for you honest opinion about it though. I will let you see any videos that I use you pictures in, before I put it out on the net. I figure I owe it to you, if the pics are yours, you should have the first criticism! :)
